On a 60 minutes episode in 2012 President Obama said “Oh I think that, you know, as president I bear responsibility for everything--to some degree.” Fast forward to this year, On the week of the Benghazi hearings reports came out that the IRS since 2010 has been auditing individual and non profit organizations who are conservative in their political affiliation, and reports came out that the Justice Department had wiretapped more than twenty lines at the Associated Press. That would be a big blow to the credibility of any administration. The issue for Obama though is his lack of knowledge.
In each of the cases above the response has been the same. He wasn't briefed on any of these issues, and found out about them on the evening news. The problem? There are sources that will confirm that there were people in the White House that knew about the IRS scandal since 2012, and that there were people in the White House that knew about the Justice Department looking into the Associated Press, but they did not find these things important enough to get the President involved in these cases. In fact, the President had to find out about them just like every other American.
Many people have been comparing these scandals to Watergate which happened forty years ago, and Reuters correspondent Jeff Mason asked how Obama felt about “being compared to President Nixon on this.” The press secretary Jay Carney responded, “People who make those kinds of comparisons need to check their history.” To which Carney has a point. Richard Nixon was in control. Evidence to that point couldn't be anymore clear. That is why he resigned before he could be impeached. Obama on the other hand has blamed the other agencies, and on multiple occasions called them "independent." The Associated Press’s Jim Kuhnhenn pointed out that in all the controversies of the moment — the Benghazi “talking points,” the IRS targeting and the journalists’ phone records He stated “you have placed the burden of responsibility someplace else. . . . But it is the president’s administration."
Sadly, he is a president of ignorance. He believes he cannot be touched. This is a president that says "I bear responsibility for everything--to some degree" Unfortunately to some degree means very little. He won't own up to the mistakes of his administration, he will pass them off. This leads me to another Democratic President Harry S. Truman on his desk was a sign. It stated, "The BUCK STOPS here!" In his farewell address to the American people given in January 1953, President Truman referred to this concept, "The President, whoever he is, has to decide. He can't pass the buck to anybody. No one else can do the deciding for him." Mr. President, all I ask is for you to get in front of the camera, look at the American people and say, "I'm sorry, these things shouldn't of happened," and ultimately, "the buck stops here."
Have you ever had an opinion and wanted to share it, but not know how? Well, this is pretty much my solution. You will see views on politics, religion, and anything else I want to rant about.

The Real Problem
I read a post the other day concerning politicians and the issues we face today. America is falling short of what it is capable of, and everyone has someone else to blame. Is it really the politicians fault? I am beginning to think that it isn't. Don't get me wrong, they share much of the blame for what America is going through, but they are doing what the American public have voted for them to do. The status quo. The post I mentioned before said this, "I'm not unhappy with my representatives; I'm unhappy with those I didn't get to vote for." That is the issue at hand. Congress has a 17% approval rating, but most of those in congress get re-elected. The message sent to the congressmen is keep on doing what you are doing. That is exactly what is happening. This is not a republican or a democrat issue, as I believe they are one in the same. This is an American problem, and if people will not educate themselves the problem will continue to grow.

Freedom
In June of 1909 William Taft proposed a 2 percent Federal tax, and in July of 1909 congress passed this amendment. However it was not until 1913 that enough states signed on to ratify the amendment. Also in 1913 Woodrow Wilson became President of the United States. In his first term he passed major legislation, including the Federal Reserve act, and many other progressive type of legislations. Woodrow Wilson was also one who helped with the idea of the League of Nations, which was ultimately rejected, but was later revived as the United Nations. A while after Wilson the nation was struck by the Great Depression. The nation voted Franklin D. Roosevelt into office. FDR enacted many legislative ideas through executive order. Many of these ideas were instrumental in the forming of the New Deal. At first they appeared to work, but soon the roles reversed and the country headed towards a recession. However, with World War 2, the Draft, and manufacturing, the US came out of the Great Depression stronger than ever. The problem though was FDR had too much power, and soon after his death Congress passed Term Limits for the President of the US. Fast Forward to 2001. The US is attacked by a Terrorist Group. President Bush openly declares war on the group, and the US goes to Afghanistan to find Osama Bin Laden. However, because of the terrorist attack things begin to change. Security is a lot tighter in the Airports. People are no longer allowed to walk family to the Terminals. Pat-downs become more regular, and people allow it to happen all in the name of security. Also in the name of security, wire-taps. The government is now allowed to listen in on conversations to any American they suspect could be a terrorist. Though Bush claims to be a conservative, Federal powers start to rise. Then, in 2008 a recession hits America. Bush, with the help of Congress passes TARP, and starts bailing out the Banks and Auto industry. All of this is in the name of, "Too big to fail." With this all fresh on voters minds, as well as 2 unpopular wars, voters want change, and vote in Barack Obama. Not only does Obama continue the TARP program, he then passes the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This act brought more money to the States, and was used in the name of "Creating Jobs." However, unemployment continued to rise. After the ARRA, The President worked on reforming Healthcare. While Promising not to raise taxes on people who make under $200,000, in the bill there was a Mandate that all Americans must have Health Insurance by 2014. If they did not, there would be a penalty. After months of debate, the Law passed Congress with little to no support from the GOP. Soon after the Bill was signed into law States sued the Government claiming the mandate was unconstitutional, and that the Law should be struck down. After years of debate, the lawsuit reached the Supreme Court, and this past week the Law was upheld 5-4. There have been many other items since 1909 that have caused the Federal Level to gain more power, and many of these items have gone through Executive order by the President of the United States.
Today, America no longer has its Freedom. Through huge spending, we are slaves to Debt. With the United Nations, America is subject to World law. At the same time the Federal Government is taking away the rights of the People. This is not a Left or a Right issue. This is not an attack on the President. And it is not a call to arms. This is a plea to do some studying. Every major power that grasped for more power ultimately crumbled under that power. America will be no different. One way or another America as we know it will fall. The question is, Are you going to follow the government blindly as fall with it, or are you going to prepare for it, and be ready for when it does happen. Because if you are ready, you can save yourself a lot of heartache. There will still be pain, and there will still be suffering, but knowledge will soften the hurt. I ask that you research history, understand the past. Build your house on the rock, and not on the sand. Live your life prepared.

America
I don't blog much anymore, most of the time because life gets into the way. But as Occupy Wall Street Continues, and the Tea Party Continues I thought I would share my thoughts on the situation. Iran has called the OWS the "American Spring" liking it to the protests in many middle eastern countries. The problem with those is that they got violent. My prayer is that they don't, however, the country is more polarized today than at anytime I can remember. The government cannot make decisions to save their lives, and now it is at the point where we have to wonder. Is the United States going to collapse? Truth is, it might. Class warfare is mounting. There is a war brewing within the religious realm too. Atheists are suing left and right. I read a comment on an article the other day that talked about a small town trying to keep a cross (That was put up by private citizens with no city money) on their water tower. The comment read that only the Christians complain when the atheists fight for "religious freedom." Atheists have a belief system, and they are trying to force it through the courts. With all of the fighting that is going on, America could fall. However I was reminded last night that God is in control. He raises nations, and destroys them. Not because he finds joy in it, because the wicked must be judged, and this country might be soon face that judgement. It doesn't have to happen though. As we have seen throughout the Bible, If a country would return to God and repent it can be saved. It is not too late for God to Bless America, but first America must turn to God. If that does not happen, America will fall. As history shows us not a single nation can be a power forever.

2012 Presidential Election
With the political climate preparing for 2012, I thought I might try and start blogging again. I will try and stay civil, and calm. The bigest reason I took a break was because I got to emotionally involved, and I lost a few friends over politics. However, A friend put this up on Facebook, and I thought I would share it. The 2012 Elections will be here before we know it. We know President Obama wants re-elected.
Add to the list below his "guns and religion" comment, his comments about our Constitution being outdated and fundamentally obsolete, his termination of the manned space program, and most recently, his speech on Israel.
*If any other of our presidents had doubled the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read, would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head?*
*If any other of our presidents joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder who's side he was on?*
*If any other of our presidents had pronounced the Marine Corps like Marine Corpse, would you think him an idiot?*
*If any other of our presidents had put 87,000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records of any industry because one foreign company had an accident, would you have agreed?*
*If any other of our presidents had used a forged document as the basis of the moratorium that would render 87,000 American workers unemployed would you support him?*
*If any other of our presidents had been the first President to need a Teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?*
*If any other of our presidents had spent hundreds of thousands of (taxpayer) dollars to take his First Lady to a play in NYC, would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had reduced your retirement plan holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought it a proud moment for America?*
*If any other of our presidents had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?*
*If any other of our presidents had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had stated that there were 57 states in the United States, wouldn't you have had second thoughts about his capabilities?*
*If any other of our presidents would have flown all the way to Denmark to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out his front door in his home town, would you not have thought he was a self-important, conceited, egotistical jerk.*
*If any other of our presidents had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, wouldn't you have winced in embarrassment? *
*If any other of our presidents had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?*
*If any other of our presidents' administrations had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?*
*If any other of our presidents had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?*
*If any other of our presidents had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have ever approved?*
*If any other of our presidents had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?*
*So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive?*

A Kindergarten Girl Who Taught Me So Much.
M will take place of the girls name
A little girl died yesterday at the age of 6. She was a girl who I got the pleasure of knowing while I was a Para at Ogden Elementary School. She tested my patience at times, but whenever she saw me outside the classroom she would yell, "Mr. W." and run up and give me a hug. At times she was defiant, but that seemed to be her way of testing you. She wanted to know what she could get away with. One day she had a seizure in class, and I was just getting back from lunch. Another student ran out of the classroom and when asked what was wrong, she said, "M is having a fever." So we went to the nurse and got the medication we needed that was supposed to stop it, but by the time we got there her seizure stopped and she was sleeping. So we got a wheelchair, and I picked her up and took her to the nurses office, and by the time I laid her down, the fire alarm went off, so I had to put her pack in the wheelchair and take her outside. I always felt for her, because my wife has epilepsy, and my sister did as well, it was one of the reasons I wanted to work with her.
One of my most memorable moments with M was when she had earned her 5 pennies. (The 5 pennies was a reward program that we had used to reward the good behavior, so she wouldn't be as defiant.) She usually wanted to go on the computer, or go see Mrs Ehie, but this time she wanted me to read to her, and to use hand puppets. When I got done reading, she wanted me to read again, but I told her we had to rejoin the class. So in her sweetest voice she said, "I love you Mr. W."I just smiled and told her if you earn your 5 pennies again I will read to her again, so she agreed and went back to class. However, when she earned those 5 pennies she didn't want me to read to her, she wanted to go see Mrs. Ehie. I will never forget the walks to go turn in the attendance, the hugs, and the smiles. She taught me patience, and she reminded me why I chose to do what I do. She reminded me the love I have for children.
As Jesus says in Matthew 19:14 "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children." I pray that M is enjoying heaven right now, and I look forward to the day when I can thank her for being herself, and reminding me of why I am in the ministry.

Politically correct
Well, it is that time of year again. The time of year where the ACLU jump at the chance to sue small towns for saying Merry Christmas in public places. We have gotten to a point where being politically correct is the new norm. You cannot offend a non-Christian. Christians do get the raw end of the deal, they cannot worship openly without offending anybody. They cannot celebrate their holidays without reading a news story of another town with a high tradition of putting a manger scene in city park having to cave to the ACLU because one person gets upset. It is sad to see, but it is not surprising. In my opinion America has raised a bunch of quitters. People are too afraid to stand up for what they believe in. They are taught to conform with everybody else. We need to raise a new generation of leaders, ones that are willing to go against the grain, and be able to take the heat, when the world is against them. How do we do it? It all starts in the home.
Step 1- Parents have to be parents again. The other day I saw a news article about a woman suing McDonalds because their ads make her kids want a happy meal, and she normally gives in. That isn't being a parent. What is wrong with saying "No!" and that being the answer? Luckily for me I have seen many friends of mine, who I think will raise great kids give birth to children. I at least know there will be a few good leaders.
Step 2- Don't let the school's be the only teacher. Schools today are trying their best to teach our kids, but their is little to no support from the parents. Schools can only do so much, and there is not much time for the child to build their own beliefs. Teachers are now pretty much forced to teach a test, and that is how we figure out if a school is passing or failing a child. Students are over loaded with information, and many times that information can be contradictory with what your beliefs are.
Step 3- Be the role model you are supposed to be. Do your homework, find out what you believe and stand up for it. Don't sit back and do nothing, just because you are one person. If you let somebody jump all over you because your beliefs are not politically correct, your child is going to see that. Make a stand! Show your child that you are not afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Show them that you are a leader, and that it is okay to go against the grain.
Now, I would like to take this time to wish all of you a Merry CHRISTmas. Hope you all have a safe holiday, and this New Year make it a point to do your homework, figure out what you believe and stand up for it. Be a true role model for the younger generation, and who knows maybe our next generation will have the best leaders this world has ever seen.
