What is Next for the American People?

There is real trouble in America right now. In recent Gallup Polls 46 percent of the American Public said they are not following the Benghazi issue. Likewise 46 percent said they are not following the story about the IRS going after conservative groups. This also coincides with Obama's approval rating going up one point in the latest daily poll that was released yesterday. Over and over again I look at the American public, and I get worried. Most people when asked do disapprove of Congress, which is a good thing, but they save their representative from scrutiny with a majority approving of the job they are doing. Americans seem to no longer care, and if that is truly the case that they don't care how what the government is doing, maybe they deserve to lose their constitutional freedoms. Maybe they deserve to lose their right to privacy, or right to free speech, or Freedom of religion. Americans have become soft, they no longer care.

On a different note I want to take time to criticize some who are overly critical. Yesterday news came out that Obama used Marines to hold umbrellas out to keep him and a Prime Minister dry while holding a press conference outside. Some took offense to that. The Marines didn't complain. Yet you have all these people being critical of something so minor it is beyond ridiculous. You have Benghazi, the IRS and the Justice department that you can be up in arms about, and you are worried about Marines holding an umbrella for the President? It is arguments like this that will make you lose credibility. You are taking focus away from things that really matter. The Marines holding an umbrella should be a non-issue.

Honestly if this keeps up, America will be lost. There are idiots on both sides of the spectrum. And quite honestly it is very difficult to argue with them. Over the past few elections I have voted for both Democrats and Republicans. In fact my favorite mayor that I worked with, was one that I did not agree with 100%, but he had conviction, he led with integrity, and admitted mistakes when he realized he made one. Yet those politicians are becoming fewer, and the uninformed are starting to grow larger. It doesn't have to be this way, but in order for there to be change their needs to be dialogue, and people need to start growing a backbone. If they don't then America is lost. However if dialogue opens, people quit arguing over the stupid stuff like Marines and Umbrellas we might actually have a fighting shot.
