Is the GOP getting soft on Terrorism?

Justice Department officials are firing back at Republican critics who have accused them of being soft on terror, saying they are the ones putting American lives at risk. The comments are the first time that Justice Department officials have struck back publicly after being on the defensive for months.
In a recent hearing on Capitol Hill and in separate interviews with Fox News, high-ranking Justice Department officials said new efforts by Republicans to ban or limit the use of civilian courts for terrorism suspects would damage the U.S. government's ability to obtain intelligence and thwart potential attacks. After reading an article about how the Justice department believes the GOP are the ones soft on Terrorism, it kinda blew me away. I really believe terrorism is one of the GOP's strong suits. Even with the torture tactics we have been able to gather information, and prevent another terror attack from happening during the whole Bush Administration. I don't see very much in the way of strong points in either party right now, but to me the strength in fighting terror goes to the GOP, am I wrong?

  1. An NBC/WSJ poll just this week showed more Americans favored the GOP with handling national security and the war on terror. So, I think your beliefs are right on.
