Jericho

Okay, I am a fan of Jericho, and those that know me knew this would come up eventually. For those of you that don't know Jericho is a small fictional town in western Kansas. After 23 nuclear bombs go off inside the United States, this town is left to fend for itself. At the end of the first season New Bern, (another fictional Kansas town) attacks Jericho, killing Johnston Green, the towns former mayor and patriarch. At the Beginning of the Second Season military forces enter into Jericho, and starts to retore order to Jericho and its surrounding region, and putting an abrupt end to the conflict between Jericho and, New Bern. As normality returns to town, the plot shifts away from the day to day issues facing Jericho to life and political intrigue under the ASA government. I watched this show religiously, and ever since I started watching, I also started getting into politics, and started too see a parallel from Jericho to real life. Now, you may call me crazy, but watch the show, and you will see I am not as crazy as I appear. They looked at events like Katrina, September 11, and the Iraqi and Afghan wars, and brought it all into a worse case scenario television show. They brought Blackwater into the United States with  Ravenwood, a Mercenary group run by Jennings and Rall (they also seem to run the new government as well). They brought in harsh interrogation tactics, and the frustration of the American people who are tired of living in the tyranny of a government. Now I don't believe it has gotten as crazy as it has in Jericho, but if you take a look around you, the Government starting to tighten its control, the anger of Americans, and the willingness to show the government they are not afraid to make a stand, with tea parties, and town hall meetings; you will see we are not all that far off. And though it is not one big corporation that runs our government, it is many. there are so many lobbyist from business trying to get what is best for them even if it is not good for the every day American. They buy votes toward a legislation, and they do it without thinking of who it might hurt.  Now I do not see 23 nuclear bombs hitting the US, or the government splitting into 3, but anything is possible, you just have to prepare yourself for that worst case scenario, however unlikely it may seem.
